For
food and wine enthusiasts who want to taste, learn and enjoy the
great vineyard and culinary traditions of France.
Chuck Hornsby, owner and director of Vineyards
and Kitchens in France works in collaboration with his extensive
network of associates, colleagues and friends all food and wine
professionals in France. He is a long time French food and wine
writer, educator, and creator of vineyard and culinary programs in
France.
Chuck grew up in the Midwest, then traveled
to Paris, where he lived, worked, married, and began a lifelong passion
for the wine and food of France before returning to the USA and settling
in Brattleboro, Vermont. From 1996 to 2001, he traveled the back roads
of France, creating, managing and operating food and wine theme programs
in all the major wine regions for a travel company. The tours he developed
are still enjoyed by more than a thousand travelers every year.
His
special skill is locating new sites and forging successful
working relationships with professional partners, off the
beaten path of food and wine tourism. He led the first programs to
the Université du Vin in the southern Rhone vineyards,
to the Paul Bocuse Culinary School in Ecully, to the Burgundy
Wine School in Macon and to Lydie Marshalls chateau
kitchen in Nyons.
In Vermont he has owned a French bakery,
a Gourmet-to-Go restaurant and a specialty wine and cheese shop where
he hosted a series of wine education seminars.Chuck arranges every detail
of these programs himself. His mission is to help others discover and
appreciate the great wine and culinary traditions as they taste, learn
and enjoy in the vineyards and kitchens of France.
